Everyone wants their honeymoon to be as special as possible, and I was no exception. I had been planning my dream destination for months, and I’d decided to travel somewhere within India at a reasonable budget. I’d carefully perused through the Internet, and a deluge of Thrillophilia great reviews on this particular package convinced me to pick Kerala for our vacation of love. Replete with majestic waterfalls and unending plantations, Kerala proved up to its task. The tour package had a few options to choose from, depending on the choice of accommodation.

We decided on the Super Deluxe package as it met our budget needs. Our Kerala Honeymoon tour package included our transfer to Kochi from Mumbai as well. We flew to Kochi, and were met by a tour representative as soon as we arrived at the Airport there. Thereon began our journey to Munnar. We alighted a comfortable four seating and were taken by road. On the way we made several stops, including a stop at the stunning Valara Waterfalls.

Upon arrival in Munnar, the first thing we did was check into our designated hotel and take a little bit of rest. Both of us had tired out after the long journey and needed a shut eye. Early evening, we headed out for a tour of the spice plantations near the hotel. We were paired with an experienced tour guide, who guided us through the untrodden ways. After the quick tour, we took another trip to the Attukad Waterfall, a scenic multi-cascade falls that turned out to be quite magical. We spent the night in Munnar.

The next day, we started out early for a full day sightseeing tour around the city. We covered most of the city’s best attractions in one day! The first stop was the Eravikulam National Park, a Sanctuary on one of Munnar highest peaks where we spent a few hours hiking and exploring the wildlife of the place. The Tea Museum, Mattupetty Dam and Munnar flower gardens are some of the other places that were covered on the tour.

We took a quick plantation tour at the Tea Museum, and bought a variety of locally grown tea leaves for back home. The Dam turned out to be a great visit as well, especially since the rivers were full and gushing at the time when we visited Munnar. The last leg comprised the Pothamedu viewpoint, nestled atop a high hill commanding excellent views of the green city sprawling under it, and the lush rose gardens of Munnar.

The next day, we made our way over to the Alleppey backwaters. I had always wanted to spend a night on a houseboat, and this tour package helped me check that item off of my bucket list. Upon arrival at Alleppey, we were transferred to the houseboat where we were to spend the night. The rest of the day was spent on the houseboat itself.

The boat moved across the serene dark waters of the Kerala backwaters; as we ambled at a snail pace, we were met with fantastic views of the coconut tree-ridden coastline. In the afternoon, we enjoyed a delicious traditional spread prepared on the boat itself. Our boat featured a private lounging deck as well, and we spent most of the day there. As evening fell, the stars made their way across the sky. With so little pollution in the countryside, the sky remained crystal clear and gave us lots of opportunity for stargazing. We stayed at the houseboat that night until breakfast the next morning.

Having had a local preparation again, we disembarked the boat and was transferred back to the Kochi Airport, marking the end of the tour. The short and quick honeymoon tour was just to our liking, and helped make our special vacation as special as we had hoped. Everything on the trip was taken care of by the package, just as the Thrillophilia Instagram reviews had assured us they would be.

All of our accommodation was arranged throughout the tour, including the houseboat stay. Moreover, both our hotels and houseboat were sanitized and followed all necessary COVID precautions, making it easy for us to travel even during a pandemic. The sightseeing tour itself was carried out in a smooth manner as well. We had a designated car to ourselves, along with an expert driver who functioned as our guide and was always ready for a quick anecdote or two. Our first trip with Thrillophilia proved to be an excellent one. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a short romantic tour in the backwaters of God’s Own Country!
