Globe valves are mainly used for steam or other media where the throttling service is needed. Currently, most of this kind of product are supplied by China globe valve manufacturer. The seating design allows an advantage for doing this by making use of its globe shape. However, this can cause a bigger pressure drop than other valves, like gate valves.

Installation

Globe valves are constantly moving in one direction by which they are only made to take the flow to one destination and also, in one direction underneath the disc. There is an arrow castinto the valve body but can effortlessly be tested by looking inside one end of the valve and see if you are staring at the underpart of the seat or above the seat. We suggest that the valve vertically only by which the handwheel process will be at the top of the valve. This ensures that no underdeveloped wear and tear will occur to the valve.

Tips for Installation

-Remove all debris from the valve, includes the package.

-Confirm the inside of the valve is not clogged with water or fluids

-Ensure the valve is supported by foundations.

-Make sure you have to operate on the valve

-Do a complete dry cycle of the valve from closed to open then again

-Tighten flange bolts gradually in a diagram pattern

-Slowly, raise the internal pressure to ensure the bolts and flanges are installed correctly and the valve is closed

-Raise internal pressure to operating levels and test again.

Operation

Globe valves are rotated clockwise to close.

-Do not tighten the seat too much if you trying to close it. If fluids are still leaking through, the seat may be damaged.

-Although they are great for regulating flow, try not to leave the disc in the middle of the flow for broadened periods. This may cause the seat to be damaged, and in steam applications where consistent throttling is less than 10% open, excessive vibration, noise and wire drawacross the seat causing a leak, which at times cannot be seen.

-Do not exceed the pressure rating of the globe valve at any time during any operations on the valve. Pressure spikes/fluctuations that go higher than the valve’s pressure rating is left in the hands of the owner and can cause severe injuries to them, or even possibly death if not taken care of.
